Adaptation by Ludivine Large-Bessette

Looking behind what the body witnesses…

From the artist:

Adaptation reports the meeting between a body and a landscape.

Of the landscape created by Man to the Man conditioned by the landscape, there is only a step, or rather a set of forms. Is it one that influences the other? The other that revealed itself by the first? We don’t know anymore. The one that fits and the one that bends, merge and size each other up at the same time.

Through the use of melodramatic codes of cinema, the painful sensation of a resisting body, and the play that emerges from absurd situations, these photographs interrogate and confront the viewer with the role of the body in our social interactions and in our contemporary environment.
